Terms of Service

By creating a waypoints account, accessing the dashboard, or making any API call using a waypoints API key, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using waypoints on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, do not use waypoints.

waypoints is a unified API platform that provides five modules under a single API key and credit balance:

API keys are prefixed with wp_live_ for production and wp_test_ for sandbox. Sandbox keys do not deduct credits and are intended for integration testing only.

You agree to use the waypoints API only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. The following uses are strictly prohibited:

• Processing, transmitting, or storing illegal content of any kind.
• Using the API to abuse, harass, or violate the rights of any third party.
• Reselling or sublicensing API access to third parties — each end-user must have their own waypoints account.
• Attempting to circumvent rate limits, credit limits, or any other API restrictions.
• Reverse-engineering or attempting to extract the internals of waypoints infrastructure.
• Using sandbox keys (wp_test_) in production workloads.
• Automated account creation or systematic trial abuse.

Rate limits are enforced per API key. Excessive requests beyond plan limits will receive a 429 RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED response. Repeated abuse may result in key suspension or account termination.

waypoints uses a prepaid credit model. Credits are consumed per API call. The credit cost per module is: Render — 2, Convert — 1, Extract — 5, Verify — 1, Send — 1.

Credits are granted monthly as part of your subscription plan. Unused credits from monthly grants do not roll over to the next billing period unless noted otherwise. Top-up packs (€4 per 10,000 credits) are stackable and never expire.

Top-ups are non-refundable. Monthly subscription fees are non-refundable once the monthly credit grant has been issued.

All payments are processed by Polar.sh. waypoints does not store payment card data. By subscribing or purchasing a top-up, you also agree to Polar.sh's terms of service.

If your credit balance reaches zero, API calls will return a 402 INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS error. Sandbox keys are not subject to credit deduction.

The Free plan provides 500 credits per month and 1 API key at no cost. Free plan users receive community support only. There is no uptime guarantee on the free tier.

The Starter trial provides 7 days of free access to the Starter plan, including 15,000 credits and 3 API keys. One trial per person and per IP address. Trial abuse — including creating multiple accounts or using VPNs/proxies to circumvent the one-trial-per-IP policy — is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension.

waypoints reserves the right to modify or discontinue the free plan or trial offer at any time with 30 days notice to existing free users.

You own your data. waypoints does not claim any ownership over content you provide as input or receive as output from any module.

Files generated by the Render and Convert modules and attachments processed by the Send module are stored temporarily in our MinIO storage and are accessible only via presigned URLs valid for 24 hours. Files are automatically deleted after this period. Do not rely on waypoints as a long-term file storage service.

Extract module — important disclosure: Documents you submit to the Extract endpoint (/api/v1/extract/document) are transmitted to Anthropic's Claude API (claude-sonnet-4-20250514) for AI processing. By using the Extract module, you acknowledge and consent to this transmission and confirm you have the right to share the document content with a third-party AI provider.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that content submitted to waypoints complies with all applicable laws, including data protection laws (GDPR), copyright law, and regulations specific to your industry.

THE WAYPOINTS API PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of data returned by third-party verification sources (EU VIES for VAT, Belgian CBE for company records, or IBAN validation services). Results should be independently verified for critical business decisions.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY BELGIAN LAW, WAYPOINTS' TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES YOU PAID TO WAYPOINTS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

waypoints shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, or business interruption.

Either party may terminate the relationship at any time. You may cancel your subscription and delete your account from the billing page in the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you violate these Terms, engage in abuse, or fail to pay fees when due.

Upon termination:

• All your API keys are permanently deactivated.
• Remaining credits (both monthly grants and top-ups) are forfeited and non-refundable.
• Your data is deleted per the retention schedule in our Privacy Policy.
• Access to the dashboard is revoked.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 9 and 11) will do so.
